Sorrento must eat! This place is amazing! Great food, service and experience! We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it felt like an experience I never wanted it to end! Every course was delicious and the the staff was excellent. I will be back!
We went here for dinner and had one of the tasting menus complete with the wine pairing. The food was very good and the wine pairings worked well! There seems to be a little disconnect from the kitchen to the plating station though as the food wasn’t as hot as I thought it should have been! But I would definitely recommend giving it a go!
We absolutely loved our experience at Il Buco. Such a treat for my birthday, we went with the “Land and Territory” tasting menu and pairing wines. Each course was wonderful and Giovanni was an amazing and informative sommelier. All the staff were so friendly. Would highly recommend for a special night out.
We did fish tasting menu. Over priced.
Disappointed with the experience compared to the price. Food was whatever and it is hard to believe this is the Michelin star taste. Two main dishes were too salty for me. But the deserts were good. Interior design was whatever too. Random tile decoration. Cheap tile on floor and there is no noise absorbing materials so you can hear other table conversations. Staffs were a bit robotic and they didn’t feel too welcoming either.
Fantastic experience at this Michelin Starred restaurant. Spent €200 on dinner for 2 including an appetizer, a bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water. Impeccable service. We asked our head waiter to pick a bottle of wine for us based on our tasting preferences and he made an excellent choice for only €50 despite us not giving him any pricing guideline. We ordered off the regular dining menu and were delighted with 2 starters compliments of the chef as well as a pre dessert, post dessert, and a limoncello aperitif. The soufflé dessert was other worldly!
If you're in Sorrento and looking for a special meal, I would definitely get a reservation here. There were far fewer patrons here and it was a much needed reprieve from the chaos of Sorrento. It was quote relaxing and tranquil.
We accidentally stumbled upon Il Buco and decided to make a reservation. The tasting menu (we did the I Trust You) was absolutely worth it and quite fun!
Some outstanding food. Best Jus I've ever had (lamb dish). The strawberry dessert was the best dessert both of us have ever eaten. Restaurant is beautiful. Although the ambience was quiet but we put this down to it being lunchtime in mid October. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
Dined at Il Buco recently, the night started quite well, being seated in the newly renovated dining area, we were the second table in for the evening, customer service in the beginning was to a high quality but as more guests were seated the customer service died down. For long time whilst eating our meals we went without any water on our table, this I have never seen before in a Michelin Star restaurant. The food we found to be quite plain too and we overheard another time saying the food needed salt, which we completely agreed with. There were also no non alcoholic drinks on the menu, which was a shame as both my partner and I don’t drink.
